Kats close out UNF Collegiate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Sam Houston women's golf team finished eleventh in the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.
The 54-hole tournament, hosted by North Florida, saw the Bearkats finish at +70 for the week, beating out Lipscomb, a who tied with them last week at the Westbrook Invitational, by six shots. WKU took the team tournament title with a huge gap over the others shooting +28, while Xavier finished second with +37.
Amelia Guo was the lowest scorer for the Kats this week shooting 71-81-75 with an eagle in round one and another in round 2, placing her 16th overall with +11 on a Par-72 course measuring 6,202 yards. Victoria Renzi was next for the Kats in 24th shooting +14 with a scorecard of 79-77-74.
Other finishes include Grace Jin in 33rd despite shooting even in the first round, (72-80-82), Gracie Heinle in 77th, (85-82-79), and Cari Denson in 85th, (83-81-89).
The Bearkats two weeks will travel to Maui, Hawaii for the Donnis Thompson Invitational at the Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course. This three-day tournament will begin Monday, March 24.
