Biography

Kelsey Smith, a transfer from Arkansas State University, is one of the newest members of the Sam Houston State women's bowling team in 2012. 

The Grand Blanc, Michigan, product has been a member of the Red Wolves squad that has earned NCAA Division I Elite Eight berths the past two years. She also is an outstanding performer in the class room with a 3.9 overall grade point average and a member of the ASU Chancellor's List.

In high school at Grand Blanc, she produced a 203 average as a senior. She earned All-State and All-Region honors and also was named All-Academic. As team captain, she led her team to Region III and conference tournament championships. She also played softball and was a member of both the honor roll and the National Honor Society.

"Kelsey will be a great addition to our roster and will offer some additional quality depth," SHSU head women's bowling Coach Brad Hagen said. "She brings a competitive and humble spirit not to mention a strong work ethic to the table which will be vital assets in this team's future success as well as her own."
